The BS in Computer Science and BS in Business Data Analytics programs at SNU offers a comprehensive 4-year undergraduate education, enriched with ASU curriculum. In addition, the integration of ASU courses in this program provides you the opportunity to accrue credits that can be transferred to ASU at the onset of your 3rd year, allowing you to complete both an ASU degree and SNU degree simultaneously, in the same timeframe as one.

The BS in Computer Science program at SNU offers a comprehensive 4-year undergraduate education, enriched with ASU curriculum. In addition, the integration of ASU courses in this program provides you the opportunity to accrue credits that can be transferred to ASU at the onset of your 3rd year, allowing you to complete both an ASU degree and SNU degree simultaneously, in the same timeframe as one.
Computer science graduates find employment in a variety of capacities ranging from computer and software design to development of information technologies. Their jobs are often distinguished by the high level of theoretical expertise they apply to solving complex problems and the creation and application of new technologies.
This concentration provides students with the knowledge, skills and the advanced development capability in science and engineering for cybersecurity, including computer and network security, software security, data, and information security, applied cryptography and computer forensics. Students will have a competitive advantage if they wish to pursue graduate studies in related areas or to secure employment.
This concentration focuses on the development of distributed software, service-oriented applications, modeling notations, software architectures and other tools and skills necessary to work as a software engineer or software task leader on both large and small projects. Students will gain a solid foundation for pursuing graduate study and performing research and development in emerging areas such as model-based design, enterprise software engineering, service-oriented architecture, simulation-based software development and visual modeling system-of-systems engineering.
The BS program in Business Data Analytics prepares students with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to create and manage big data initiatives and associated business processes in order to facilitate large-scale data analytics in organisations. Students acquire organisational and technical competencies to implement data gathering, cleansing, integration and modeling tasks, as well as data asset analysis for business applications.
The program covers data warehousing, dimensional modeling, big data analytics methods and visualisation tools and techniques, and it introduces topics such as data mining and predictive analytics. Graduates can become data analysts, data architects, data visualisation developers, data change agents and data operators. Many graduates serve as architects, change agents and analytics tool suite operators for business and government.
Applications of machine learning, data and text mining for big data, Hadoop, cloud-based solutions, fundamentals of big data programming, social media and big data, NoSQL, GIS, and business case studies.
Building predictive analytics (e.g., SEMMA, KDD); exposure to logistic regression, machine learning and decision tree methods; understanding lift factors, ROC curves; hands-on use of mining software; business case studies.
Focuses on business database and data warehousing systems, development and management. Topics include capturing business requirements using data modeling, SQL, data security, operational and analytical data stores and data integrity.
