Shiv Nadar University’s eligibility criteria is developed to shortlist candidates with subject knowledge which serves as the foundation for each program. While students are admitted to a specific program, the University offers flexibility to transfer to another program/school in the University after completion of one year in the program (admitted to), subject to policies governing such transfer.
Fulfilling the eligibility criteria is only the first step and does not entitle a candidate to admission. To provide a fair and equal opportunity to every aspirant, Shiv Nadar University normalizes the scores obtained in Class XII to even out the inconsistencies that exist between various Boards of Examinations.
Shiv Nadar University is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, student-centric, research-focused institution. Shiv Nadar University strongly believes in nurturing and encouraging the brightest minds to transform them into lifelong learners and leaders.

SNUSAT – Measure of proficiency in language, ability to apply mind to simple problems, data interpretation, logical and abstract reasoning. APT – Subject knowledge required for specific programs.
As pioneers in India’s higher education scenario, we are among the first and very few to offer a remotely proctored admissions test to our aspirants. The step has been taken to ensure we handpick the best and brightest of the minds across the country, even in such challenging times of COVID-19 outbreak
The 3 hours standardized assessment consists of::
1. SNU Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT) for 2 hours (Same for all Programs)
2. Academic Proficiency Test (APT) for 1 hour (Specific to Programs applied for)
*This program would be jointly offered by School of Humanities & Social Sciences & School of Management & Entrepreneurship
** Any one of the optional APT
If the same APT serves all the Programs that you have selected, no additional APT is required. For instance, all Engineering Programs require “Physics+ Maths”. This combination also makes you eligible for B.Sc (R) in Physics and B.Sc (R) in Mathematics.
If any of your Program preferences are mapped to a different APT, you are required to take the additional 30 min APT(s). However, there is no need to repeat SNUSAT. For instance, when Program preference 1 is B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and Program preference 2 is B.Sc. (Research) in Biotechnology, you first need to appear for SNUSAT + APTs “Physics+ Maths”. For B.Sc.(Research) in Biotechnology, you will have to give an additional APT of “Biology”.
All the questions except the SNUSAT Essay and Critical Writing in APT will be Multiple Choice Type. There is no negative marking.
SNUSAT Essay and Critical writing sections will have to be typed on the computer, within the stipulated time.
Note: To understand and be comfortable with the interface used for SNUSAT, please visit the tutorial page: http://www.pearsonvue.com/demo/
